Who's Behind Keweenaw Runestones?

Keweenaw Runestones is a family-owned and operated business, a subsidiary of Slipdown Mountain Publications LLC.

Kerrie Shiel has been a professional artist for most of her life, with a wide variety of artwork displayed on her Ride The Wild Brush website. She has created all the original artwork for the books published by Slipdown Mountain Publications (both cover art and interior illustrations), as well as artwork for clients of Five Rainbows Services for Authors & Publishers. Kerrie developed the idea for Keweenaw Runestones and the unique style and techniques used to create them. Naturally, she has painted many of the stones herself.

Lisa Shiel (Kerrie's daughter) and Suzy Zuro (Kerrie's sister) also have artistic backgrounds and have painted many of the stones.

Walt Shiel (Kerrie's husband for 40+ years) serves as the business manager for Keweenaw Runestones. He is also the Managing Partner for Five Rainbows Services and the Publisher for Slipdown Mountain Publications.

Tom Zuro (Suzy's husband) is our sales manager for retail outlets.
